12/16/09: I was surprised to find the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Memorial in the middle of Annapolis. We have come a long way and I'm impressed that Annapolis publicly remembers this sad history. What an incredible story that Haley was able to trace his ancestor back to his arrival in a slave ship in this port.
