07/31/09: I have used websites like MSN and Yahoo finance for years to track my retirement portfolios and have always found it frustrating that although I could see how my portfolio behaved in the last 24 hours, I couldn't see how it performed for the last week, month, year, etc. This free site shows portfolio perform vs. common indices eg S&P 500 over any desired time period.
Since the stock market hit bottom on March 9th, I wanted to see how my portfolio performed vs. the S&P 500 in that time period and this was fairly simple to do. I hope future versions will show on a graph how each asset performed over the time period.
The interface is still a work in progress but it was possible to rapidly put figure everything out including signing-up, adding trades, choosing the comparator index, and selecting the time period for evaluation.
Including cash and its consequent drag on performance was a little tricky. I used the ticker FUSFX as a proxy for cash. |
