Great wine and cheese store. They also sell imported meats, bread, and specialty items like cornichons and saffron. Friendly owners who both learned to make cheese in France.
The best online resource for cooking in a scientific manner! Addendum - I have just downgraded my ranking of this as I have gotten the distinct feeling over the past year that they have become increasingly interested in selling magazines, and less interested in making informed reviews. This could be quite wrong, but I have not renewed my subscription since it led to harassment to subscribe to their other products. *tsk* such a shame, though!
This is the gold-mine of interesting foods - we go here to stock up on sesame oil, peanut oil, and ginger, but the curry selection is huge! Shopping here feels like you have just traveled overseas without the jetlag, and you get to bring the bounty home to eat! Must-"C" in Chinatown!
Love this place! A bit of a culinary disneyland for foodies, but beware the items that belong on Bizarre Foods episodes :- o I prefer the one in Allston, but of course the Chinatown/South End one is the original!
