Not bad but way over priced for the quality and service. I love a good beer geek spot but $10 for a pint of local brew is silly. Why not hang where the beers are just as good or better, the food is better, and the service is better like say... Lord Hobo, CBC, Redbones, ... Sent from my iPhone
We decided to stop in after work for a few beers as they are new and they've touted some great beers on draught. We stopped in one other time but the place was too crowded. We ordered up a cask of Harpoon EKG and a BBC Coffee House Porter, and enjoyed them greatly...until the bill came. $17.73 for the two beers (not including tip)! The cask was $9.32 and the porter was $7. Both were pints! We can't believe we paid this much for beers. It's not like we were at Lord Hobo or somewhere like that. We were clea..
Nice bar / coffeehouse. Seemed to have a lot of charm, which was somewhat diminished by it being very busy. Board games were available. The beer selection was impressive. The live music was not. Shares restrooms with a nearby restaurant, which a member of our party pronounced as "creepy," given that you have to walk down a dimly lit, narrow corridor to reach it, far away from the cafe itself. Service was atrocious - well over 30 minutes spent waiting for our initial order, 20 more to get it, and..
This is my favorite of the Boston area bottled Marzen style beers. It's fantastic and counts as a session beer like any good beer of this category should. Just a little sweet, medium to low carbonation, smooth on the tongue with just enough hops to balance it. I recommend it on tap and in bottles. Trust me, I drink nearly every one you can get here including six from overseas and this right there with any of them.
Tried this beer out at a party - by the looks of it, it closely resembles Corona (which I don't like), but this beer has more flavor than Corona and does go down just as smoothly. I am still baffled a bit by it being called a lager, as it is the lightest lager I've ever really had. If you are heading to a bbq or down to the beach, this is a good one to bring with you.
Two discoveries for me - one is I found a beer that I like to drink that comes with fruit in it (an orange slice), and the other is that Anheuser-Busch makes this beer. It's a great summer drink - I find myself ordering it anywhere they have it on tap - and goes down nice and easy.
