More about me

Do your friends share advice during business meetings, lunches, using email, Facebook and Twitter? My friends used to, and some still do. What pains me is that it all goes to waste, scrolls off the wall. Lots of valuable information is lost.

On the other hand, what if any piece of advice exchanged between friends got shared with all their other friends, and saved for future use? We'd all learn a lot, and have a place to come to when needing advice we can trust. That's the idea behind TrustedOnes.

Is TrustedOnes another social network? NO, because it works with your existing friends on social networks, email and mobile devices, ....and YES, because it uses your social connections to give you information from people you know and trust.

We stumbled upon D&L while waiting for a pizza at Pini's on River Street (see my other review!), and I have been going back ever since. They do not seem to have the lowest prices, but certainly not the highest, and they have a nice open layout for wandering and browsing. They have wines arranged by region, which can get tricky for the unusual brands such as Layer Cake (grape-specific sources), but they are very helpful there. I also noted a small collection of organic vodkas there but the eco-consci

The WIne & Cheese Cask has been in the first floor of a Somerville 3-decker since 1983. It's an unassuming place form the outside, but the quality of the wine selection far exceeds the small size of the place. The sales staff are all excellent; they love wine, and know the selections. If you ask for a good $20 bottle of what-not, they'll immediately steer you to a $16 bottle of something that's way better than what you were looking for, This has been my go-to place for wine for 25 years.
