04/22/09: I started to train for my first ever marathon in January 2009. As my mileage increased, I began to have terrible problems in my hamstrings and my knees, resulting in me having to hobble around in quite a lot of pain for several days after each long run.
I went to see Tom Church of Physiotivity about my issues and he was confident that he could help. After only 2 or 3 massages with Tom working on my problem areas, I found that I could run pain free and the pain that I had been experiencing after running, had diminished excessively.
I continued to visit Tom throughout my training. By the time the marathon came around, I was completely pain free, before, during and after my runs. I ran the marathon, and was able to complete the course. I could not have survived even the training without Tom, let alone the marathon itself.
As well as being extremely knowledgeable regarding sports injuries, Tom gave me wonderful advice on all aspects of running. Having been a competetive runner himself, there is little that he does not know about the sport.
Tom most definitely worked a little miracle on me this year and I highly recommended him!! Jayne Garlick Weston, MA |

I have been a Muscular Therapist since 2001 with the goal of helping anyone who uses their body in a physical manner to continue doing so. Through my work in the office, with college teams, and athletic events I have helped many people achieve their goals in the sporting arena, on the stage, and in the office. Physiotivity was created in 2007. The name Physiotivity is the combination of the words “physiology” and “activity”. This is the next stage of my life as a muscular therapist which has been progressing and growing since I entered massage school in 1999. Thank you to my girlfriend,“Bella”, who came up with the name Physiotivity after many days of brainstorming by both of us. She has lovingly supported my transition to being self-employed full-time. She is also my editor and the source of many great ideas to make the business work. Physiotivity's Blog- High school athletes should be aware of the effectiveness of massage
I had a conversation recently with a client. I do that often, especially when I can have their ear and rant a little. This was not so much a rant this time but an actual conversation. The topic was how high school athletes could be made aware of the effectiveness of massage and chiropractic in [...] - The Lonely Planet Guide to a Massage Office

After what seams like years of battling running injuries… Oh right, it has been. I have come across some exciting new concepts for staying healthy. Or in my case, becoming healthy again. Actually they are not all that new except for the studies that prove their worth. As children and even young adults we do [...]
